What roof repair costs in Monroe County

Prices for roof repair depend on what an inspection finds, so we don't publish ranges for them. Request an inspection and you'll get a written price before any work starts.

Local rules that change the job

  • Wind code

Monroe County is outside the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone. Roofing products need Florida product approval, and the Florida Building Code's wind requirements for the home's exact location apply.

  • Who issues the permit

Cities permit homes inside their limits and Monroe County permits unincorporated addresses. A mailing city doesn't always match city limits, so the permitting office is confirmed from the parcel before filing.

  • Older homes

76% of single-family homes in Monroe County were built before the statewide Florida Building Code took effect in 2002. Re-roofing an older home can trigger upgrades such as re-nailing the roof deck and adding a secondary water barrier; a written estimate should include them.
