Where Blue Sky works

Why prices change from county to county

  • Wind design

The required design wind speed changes with location. Near the coast that usually means more fasteners and higher-rated materials.

  • High-Velocity Hurricane Zone

Broward and Miami-Dade follow stricter roofing rules: products need HVHZ approval (typically a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance) and HVHZ installation requirements apply.

  • Labor

Crew rates follow local demand, and demand spikes after storms.

  • Permits and inspections

Each city and county sets its own permit fees and inspection process.

  • Disposal

Tear-off debris goes to county landfills and transfer stations that charge by the ton, at rates that differ by county.

  • Housing stock

Older homes are more likely to need deck repairs and code upgrades during a re-roof.
